The air is getting crisp, the leaves are starting their annual show and it's peak harvest time in New England. There are still a few weeks left for most of the Farmer's Markets in the Seacoast region. I went to the York County market this weekend and for $12 came home with a bag full of fresh produce for this week's dinners. Buying fruits and vegetables "in season" is one of the best ways to eat cheap and eat well. Buying from local farmers is also a great way to support your local economy. Below is a partial list of what you can find right now at the markets and farm stands around New England. The list holds true for most of the northern United States as well.
